Knowledge on demand with the inforum AI assistant
OKI turns your data into a knowledge advantage
The inforum AI assistant unlocks experience-based knowledge from quality and supplier management across modules, sites and languages.
Over the years, quality and supplier management generate valuable experience-based knowledge that is mostly documented but rarely put to active use. OKI, the AI assistant of the inforum management platform, now makes this knowledge accessible in natural language, directly in inforum or via Microsoft Copilot and Teams. Anyone who wants to know whether a defect pattern has occurred before and which actions proved effective gets a concrete answer instead of a list of search results.
Knowledge, not archives
Complaints, 8D reports, supplier audits and initial sample inspections contain valuable insights into root causes, corrective actions and supplier performance. In day-to-day work, however, they remain largely unused because they are scattered across individual cases, modules and sites. OKI brings this knowledge together and makes it available on demand. Documentation in quality and supplier management thus evolves from a mere compliance record into an active source of knowledge.
“Knowledge that exists within a company but goes unused costs time and money,” says Bernd Markfelder, CEO of JAWA. “OKI turns this untapped potential into a knowledge edge and unlocks efficiency gains that were previously hidden.”
Faster to the root cause, better-informed decisions
When a defect pattern recurs, OKI provides comparable cases including root cause, actions taken and outcome, even from other sites or in other languages. In supplier management, OKI shows a supplier’s previous complaints, audit findings and initial sample inspection results at a glance. Quality and procurement managers can thus base their decisions on all available knowledge. Research and follow-up queries are largely eliminated.
Ready for regulated environments
inforum is used in highly regulated industries, which places high demands on the use of AI. OKI runs on locally operated models, and company data is not shared with external AI providers. Each user only receives information they are authorized to access in inforum. The connection to Microsoft Copilot and Teams is based on MCP, an open standard for integrating AI applications.
“The real substance rarely sits in an input field. It lies in root cause analyses, audit findings and inspection results,” explains Markus Petelinc, CTO of JAWA. “OKI combines module data and linked documents in a shared data base, and specialized agents condense the results into a well-founded answer. What used to require time-consuming research across multiple cases and sites is now available in seconds.”
